We celebrated Canada Water Week (March 18-24) and World Water Day (March 22) by drawing attention to the importance of fresh water and the need for sustainable water management around the world.
On World Water Day, we were proud to announce our support of Quenching Kenya’s Thirst, a charitable organization raising money for clean water projects in Kenya. Abbie Lumani, a London, Ontario high school student, initiated this charitable organization after spending time in Kenya and witnessing the water issues facing the country. On March 22, Abbie visited our London office and spoke to us about her inspiration and fundraising efforts.
Also on World Water Day, Dr. Bill Cairns – Trojan’s Chief Scientist – was part of a panel discussion at Western University. The discussion focused on current water-related research, developments and discoveries.
We also joined the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority’s for the launch of the Children’s Water Festival. This annual festival is a fun and educational event for students (in grades 2 through 5) to learn about the importance of water. We have been a proud sponsor of this event for several years.
